The Dynasafe MECC, Mobile Explosion Containment Chamber, series is designed for the safe containment and removal of items possibly containing explosives, toxic materials or a combination of explosives and toxic materials. The MECC series is gas-tight with an option to sample gases after detonation prior to being safely released; this is a feature of all Dynasafe “containment” products. The MECC is also designed to withstand repetitive detonations up to the maximum amount of explosives specified.

The MECC is designed to be used at airports and in conjunction with existing baggage handling systems (BHS). The MECC can be integrated with most BHSs and X-Ray equipment currently available.

The MECC can be is easily operated by one person. By pressing one button the MECC is automatically opened and the conveyer belt inside the MECC is brought out into position to accept the suspected item(s).

When the suspected item(s) has been transported by the BHS up to the conveyer belt of the MECC, the MECC takes over and brings the item(s) into the right position inside the MECC. After closing, the surroundings are completely protected against all effects from a possible explosion.

The operating of the MECC is done remotely from a distance; or if integrated with the BHS, from the BHS control panel. The unit can then be moved to a safer location where EOD experts are able to investigate the object without endangering or disturbing the normal activities at the airport.
