The Static Detonation Chamber (SDC) is a unique thermal treatment product designed specifically for the challenges of modern demilitarization efforts. The SDC manufactured by DYNASAFE and sold and supported by UXB International, Inc. (UXB) is the world's leading environmentally responsible technology for safe, large-scale destruction of ammunition and other energetic materials; including fuzes, small arms, cartridge ammunition, mortars, large projectiles, bulk explosives, and propellants.
The SDC is a heated detonation chamber; where munitions are fed through an automated loading system and heated until the explosives deflagrate or detonate. This process does not require expensive or dangerous disassembly procedures on most munitions. As a result, munition destruction rates are much higher than competing processes.

The SDC can handle a wide assortment of ammunition. Acceptable munition fills include high explosive (HE), chemical agent, incendiary, smoke, and illumination munitions, all without requiring reconfiguration of the unit.
Metal scrap resulting from the destruction is thermally treated inside the SDC as an integral part of the process and is safe for public release once removed from the SDC. The exhaust gas from the SDC passes through a pollution control system compatible with U.S. or EU emission requirements. Water is also internally recycled, which keeps water usage rates low. Metal scrap from munitions does not require further processing (Army 5X standard).
The SDC technology is available in a variety of configurations and capacities. All SDCs are custom designed to meet the end-user's requirements. Mobile or fixed facility systems are available.
